Tell us a little about you…

I’m a dedicated Midwest guy who loves to use his fitness inside and outside the gym. I have a passion for helping others find success. I am an athlete and Coach at Craft Fitness in Iowa. I strive to help people cultivate a healthy lifestyle through fitness and nutrition.

Where did your fitness/athletic journey begin?

I am previous collegiate athlete turned crossfit athlete. Grew up playing all the sports and played Division 2 Football and Division 1 Rugby. Found crossfit after breaking my jaw in rugby back in 2014 and haven’t looked back since!

What’s your favorite part about your sport?

 

The fact that it’s you vs. you on a daily basis. Growing up playing mostly team sports, this has been a complete swing of competition, but I’ve definitely grown as an athlete and person. Also, I love the community!

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I was an Athletic Trainer for the Iowa Hawkeyes D-1 football team

What’d your favorite kind of dessert?

Birthday Cake Oreos or Ice Cream

What’s been your most memorable time as an athlete?

Getting to travel to places like Dubai, Miami, and Las Vegas just to compete in the sport I enjoy

What have been some trying times in your athletic career and what have they taught you?

I’ve struggled in the past with self confidence. My mindset game was not in the right place early on in my career. It’s taught me to trust my skills and believe in my purpose for being the athlete I am now.

Tell us a little about your accolades

I’ve competed in Crossfit Regionals / Sanctionals / Semi - Finals every year since 2016. My best Open finish was 15th Worldwide in 2018.

What does your diet/nutrition look like? Any advice to others on things that you've had to learn the hard way in this are of your health and fitness?

Currently I follow a macro guideline to help keep me fueled for competition. I’ve learned that if you’re not paying attention to putting the right food / supplements in your body that your performance will suffer. Trust that the right food / ingredients will help propel you to the best you.

Tell us a little about your training regimen - do you follow specific training program(s), coaching/coaches, etc.? How do you prioritize your training over other aspects of life to reach this level of competitiveness?

I am a Mayhem Athlete and have been following since 2020. Training right now consists of 2 sessions / day, 5-6 days a week. My wife, friends and family know my goals and understand where my priorities lay in season. Otherwise I’m always spending time making memories with them.

What’s the biggest piece of advice that you’ve been given, that’s made an impact on you as an individual, that you wish to share with others for their journey?

To become 100% of who you were born to be, you must decide why you are unique. Then use that talent and bring it to the culture to help uplift others.
