How To Use This Recipe

Our favorite way to use this recipe is to make a couple batches on a Sunday and prepare containers for your weekly meal prep. When food is readily available to be eaten, chances are you’re going to make better decisions and not go long periods without food, ending up in a hangry, ravenous rage through the entire kitchen after a tough workout or long day at work. You can also opt out of making the sides and use this Thai chili chicken meatball recipe as an appetizer recipe, using little toothpicks for the individual meatballs and making them a little smaller so they’re more finger friendly.

Is Sriracha The Same As Sweet Chili Sauce

This question has come up a few times when recommending to clients or friends this recipe. We definitely recommend sticking to sweet chili sauce because it is quite different from sriracha and using sriracha in place if Thai chili sauce can really change the entire profile of these meatballs. Chili sauce, whether you get it with garlic or use as directed in the recipe with sweet chili sauce and minced garlic, will still deliver the spicy heat that sriracha will, but in a different flavor profile.

What To Eat With Thai Chili Chicken Meatballs

We recommend pairing this meatball recipe with a complex carbohydrate, like vegetables, and a starchy vegetable, like rice, to make it a complete meal. While yes, you can just have the meatballs on their own, by adding in some variety with vegetables and grains you can really boost the nutrient content of the meal while staying fuller for longer, thanks to the high protein content.

Difference Between Chili Sauce And Sweet Chili Sauce

Chili sauces are great for adding flavor and life to things like meat and vegetables. One of the questions that came up for me though, when shopping for chili sauce, is what’s the difference between chili sauce and sweet chili sauce, if there is one at all? Well, what I found out what that chili sauce is typically a little on the spicier side as far as chili sauces go, and unlike their sweeter chili sauce counterpart, chili sauce is often mixed with garlic. So while both are made with chili peppers, it really comes down to the flavor and spiciness that you’re going for in the recipe.

Thai Chicken Chili Meatball Recipe Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, flour, cilantro, and egg (use your hands, this is easiest)
  4. Spoon out a little meat into your hand and roll into a ball. The ball should be about 1-2 inches in diameter, based on your preference. Place them in rows on the baking sheet lined with foil.
  5. Bake the meatballs in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown
  6. While the meatballs are baking, mix together the glaze ingredients in pan over medium heat. Cook until the sauce begins to boil, then pull off the heat.

  8. Serve or meal prep with a vegetable and starch of choice (we like brown rice and broccoli).
