Halo Top is Coming to Canada – The Most Popular Ice Cream in America

Big news for our fellow neighbors in Canada! Halo Top Creamery, a dessert without all the guilt, will be making its big debut in Toronto, Canada in 2018. Grab your spoon friends and taste buds unite! Arguably the most popular, go-to ice cream amongst the CrossFit community (in our opinion of course), is about to take their brand to the next level.

What is Halo Top Ice Cream?

Halo Top Creamery is a pint of ice cream that comes in a variety of soothing and savory flavors with only 80-100 calories and packed with protein! Yes, we just said, protein ice cream. The last thing crossfitters need, and really any fitness enthusiast needs, is extra sugar and simple carbohydrates in their diet to counteract all their hard work in the box or gym. Halo Top was founded on this same principle, by a man named Justin Woolverton, of Los Angeles, in the year 2011. He was tired of the self-guilt trip post-consumption of ice cream but didn’t want to give up the treat altogether. So what did he do? He made one he didn’t have to feel bad about. Introducing: Halo Top, a quality ice cream with delicious and creamy ingredients.

What Type of Sugar is in Halo Top Ice Cream?

Good question with good news! Halo top uses stevia as a sugar replacement to keep your ice cream delight low in carbs and overall sugar content. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol and while it sometimes has a bad rap in the online health community, it’s actually an all-natural sweetener found in fruits (such as grapes and pears). While it does fall in the sugar alcohol category, erythritol doesn’t affect blood glucose or cause bloating (fitness enthusiasts unite, ice cream for all!).

What is all the Hype About?

Halo top was introduced to the market as a low calorie, low carbohydrate, low sugar and high protein option for those seeking to indulge without the bulge, literally. The products have about four servings per pint (who cares about servings with a pint of ice cream anyways, #amiright), and boasts only 6-8 grams of sugar per serving and 100 calories. Boom. Talk about winning. Even if you take the whole thing to the dome, you good fam, keep going. Guiltless indulgence is at your fingertips and is about to be at the fingertips of our fellow Canadian friends.

When is Halo Top Coming to Canada?

Keep an eye out on store shelves and get ready to head to the market when they open as we’re sure it’ll sell out fast. You can expect Halo Top to be available in early March at select stores, including Metro Ontario, Save on Foods, Whole Foods, Longo’s, Loblaw Stores, and CO-OP Stores.
