The best time of the year is here – the CrossFit Games. The time where visitors, spectators, friends, family, and athletes join together in the last pursuit of being crowned “The Fittest Individual on Earth”. The games will be taking place in Madison, Wisconsin from August 1st to August 5th.
Don’t worry if you can’t be there in person – you can watch the CrossFit Games online via the CFGames website, the CrossFit Games Facebook Page (live) or on Television where they will be streamed via the CBS Sports Network each day.
Events for Individual Competitors (both Men and Women) will be held on August 1st and August 3rd based on Central Daylight Time (UTC -6). The schedule of events and specific event details are as follows below.
Wednesday – August 1st, 2018
Individual Event 1: Crit
At the Perimeter Venue, Individual Women will compete from 8:20 AM – 9:05 AM with Individual Men competing from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM.
Athletes will participate in a time trial before the actual event in order to determine initial starting places, with a rolling start behind a pace bike. Once the lead pace has been set, the pace bike will exit the course and the event will begin. Athletes will compete for time on a 10 lap (1,200-meter circuit) set up in the Perimeter Arena with the last lap signified by a waving white flag.
Individual Event 2: Muscle-ups
At the North Park Venue, Individual Women will compete from 11:55 AM – 12:15 PM with Individual Men competing from 12:20 PM – 12:40 PM.
Each athlete will have their own set of rings to complete 30 MU for time. The timer stops when the athlete crosses the designated finish line
Individual event 3: CrossFit Total
At the North Park Venue, Individual Women will compete from 12:50 PM – 1:38 PM with Individual Men competing from 1:45 PM – 2:34 PM.
Making its debut appearance since the Games in 2007, Athletes will attempt to max their back squat, shoulder press, and deadlift. This event, laden with weights, each individual has three opportunities to establish a max one rep effort.
Individual Event 4: Marathon Row
At the Coliseum Venue, both Individual Women and Individual Men will compete from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
All 80 Athletes will be rowing an individual total of 42,195 meters for time, time cap is established at four hours.

Friday – August 3rd, 2018
Individual Event 5: The Battleground, presented by the US Marine Corps
At the North Park Venue, Individual Women will compete from 10:15 AM – 11:15 PM with Individual Men competing from 9:00 AM – 10 AM.
Talk about an obstacle course full of rope climbs, running, and even manikin drags (also referred to as Rescue Randy Drags). Individual Male Athletes are required to wear a 9.1kg vest and Individual Female Athletes are required to wear a 6.4kg vest.
Weight for the manikin will range anywhere from 20.4kg to 113.4kg. Final weights are not available at this time.
Individual event 7: Fibonacci (Fibonacci Final in 2017)
Event time TBD.
Previously known as the Fibonacci Final that doomed all but one male athlete in the 2017 CrossFit Games at the end of a four-day long competition stretch, Logan Collins, the workout will make its debut at the 2018 CF Games as Fibonacci. Castro referred to this as many athletes “Redemption” event.
Athletes will complete 5-8-13 reps of Parallette HSPUs, Double KB Deadlifts, then proceed to 89 ft. of Double KB OH lunges. Men will encounter a 14-in. deficit, two 203-lb KBs for deadlifts, and two 53-lb. KB for lunges. Women will encounter an 8-in. deficit, two 124-lb. KB for deadlifts, and two 35-lb. KB for lunges. Time cap is 6 minutes.
Saturday – August 4th, 2018
Individual event 9: Chaos
Event time TBD.
As of July 31st, all we know about Event 9 is it will be scored out of 100 points. Castro dropped the hint with releasing the daunting name, Chaos. The event is set to take place Saturday and we’ll update once we receive more information.
