Tell us a little about you...

I'm a full-time working professional and an elite level CrossFit Athlete. I pride myself on my work ethic, my routine, my dedication and willingness to succeed. I do everything with all my heart - 100% all the time. CrossFit has kept me sane through so many situations and events in life. It's my community, it's my go-to, it's my hobby, and I love everything about it.

What level of competition have you competed at?

In 2014 I competed at Regionals on a Team and in 2017 I competed at Regionals as an individual. 2018 came around and I missed Regionals as an Individual after the Open by just 1 spot.  I have competed on an elite team at Wodapalooza and Granite Games in years past. My training has to be very regimented due to my schedule.

Since you're a full-time legal professional, what does a typical week of training look like to you?

I always believe that when you tell yourself you don't have time, it's just not a priority. Training isn't easy and neither is having time. So instead - I make time. My coach, who is in Connecticut, designed a program that gels with my works schedule. This program typically consists of a morning cardio session, typically the assault runner, 5 days a week, and weight lifting/training, skill work and CrossFit in the afternoons, typically 5-6 days a week. All in all, I am probably in the gym 3-4 hours per day.

With your work/training schedules, would you say you have a pretty regimented nutrition/supplementation schedule as well?

Absolutely. After I went to Regionals on a team in 2014, I really started putting in an effort to train seriously and see how far I can get.  In 2016, I found a regimented program that made sense and developed me as an athlete. Probably about halfway through 2016 or thereabouts, I got nutrition coaching and have been tracking my food and taking supplements.

Why do you use SWOLVERINE products?

Nutrition and supplementation have changed me as an athlete tremendously. I went from probably 125 lbs to 140 lbs over three years and gained significant amounts of strength beyond what I could ever imagine. I just never knew enough about how to fuel the body to perform. I like how you can customize products from Swolverine to fit your training and goals. They've helped me realize that you don't need a product pumped with 20+ products, half of which you can't even pronounce. Just as I've refined other areas of my life, they're helping me refine my supplements, and they'll help any athlete or individual do the very same based on their own individual goals, too!

You mention CrossFit keeps you sane... can you elaborate?

As cliche as it sounds, Crossfit just keeps me sane. I'm behind a desk 90% of the day, wearing a suit, and nothing feels better than going to my box at the end of the day. I think I bring a unique perspective to Crossfit because of my career. I am not a student. I do not train full time. I am not a personal trainer or PT that has a schedule that may be more flexible. And yet I am able to maintain and compete at a fairly high level. You just have to do everything right, including training, supplementation, food and time management. If you want it, you'll make time for it. Simple as that! =)

Lastly, what do you love about CrossFit?

What I love about Crossfit is just how far you can push yourself. To see where I came from in 2014 to what I am today just makes me want to push harder. I could have never imagined cleaning 225 lbs a few years ago, and now I can't wait to clean 245 lbs. It gives me something to constantly work for and allows me to constantly set the bar higher for myself. I encourage anyone and everyone to step into a local affiliate and just try!
