Tell us a little about you…
I LOVE CROSSFIT! I’m Taylor Rohrbaugh, a 25-year-old CrossFitter (I’ve been training for about 3 years), and retired NCAA Gymnast. I competed for 4 or my 20-year gymnastics career at Southern Connecticut State University and I now coach gymnastics full time. It’s been really fun to transition my hobby and passion into more of a coaching career, teaching and leading athletes down a path that played such a big role in my own life.
How have you seen yourself grow from being a collegiate gymnast to a crossfitter?
Within this past year alone I’ve seen myself grow a lot within this sport. From my lifting technique to breathing and endurance, I’ve enjoyed every step of the process that’s gotten me where I am now. After college, it was hard to find something that fueled my competitive spirit, until I found CrossFit.
Do you enjoy team or individual competitions more?
I compete with my team, ProdigyFit, in the Mid Atlantic Region respectively. I’ve competed at WZA in the RX Division, finishing 6th! We were super pumped on this. I’m extremely excited to be going to the 2018 Mid Atlantic Regionals with my team, but I would love to be able to make it as an individual possibly next year.
You seem to take really well to the barbell, have you ever competed in Oly events?
Yes! Actually, I compete quite often as a 69kg Olympic Weightlifter. In both 2016 and 2017, I qualified for the American Open. In 2017 and 2018, I have qualified for Nationals. I feel that between CrossFit and Lifting I’m able to refine all sorts of skills, which not only keeps it extremely challenging but keeps me learning.
Why do you choose to fuel with Swolverine Products?
After being an athlete for so many years, I understand the importance of taking care of your body for not only the now but the long term. I like the fact that Swolverine's products are clean and made my healthy ingredients. I like what the company stands for. And I feel comfortable taking it and sharing it. I believe in this company, and you guys believe in me. It’s an awesome feeling!
